We are situated in Brandeglio, an ancient hill-top village in the Val di Lima, part of the famous Garfagnana region of Northern Tuscany. This part of Italy displays more of the original Italy from long before the central plains and beaches became magnets for tourists. The valleys are deep and dramatic and the hills are steep with breathtaking views. The forests are mysterious and have deer, wild boar and porcupines. And of course the Italian people are warm and welcoming and the Tuscan food and wine legendary.
 Only 15 minutes from the famous spa town of Bagni di Lucca, Brandeglio is a typical Tuscan hilltop village with spectacular views of the surrounding hills and villages. All the houses and the church in the village are many hundreds of years old.
A bar has recently opened at the edge of the village about 200 yards from the house, serving traditional Tuscan food and local wine. There are the most spectacular views of the valley below from its garden.
From Brandeglio, it is only 30 minutes to the famous medieval walled city of Lucca and 45 minutes to the popular skiing resort of Abetone. You could be photographed holding up the leaning tower in Pisa, have a day sun-bathing on the beach at Viareggio or even take a day trip to Renaissance Florence, with its culture, architecture and, of course, world famous shopping! These trips can be made by car, train or bus and we can even deliver and collect you from the railway station if necessary.
